Redbridge Ramblers at Wanstead Festival 13 September 2009
The Redbridge Ramblers were out in force on Sunday 13th September 2009 attending the Wanstead Festival.
Virginia, Jean, Iris and Margaret encouraged people to come up to the display stand to find out more about our fantastic group and the basic objectives of the Ramblers.
It was a great day with a lot of interest and as part of the service we offered a free foot clinic on the day hosted by Lee Raphael, from the Beehive Foot Clinic on Beehive Lane in Gants Hill, which was very well received.
Lee wrote to us afterwards -
I was kindly asked to join Virginia and the rest of her crew from Redbridge Ramblers, on her stall at the Wanstead Festival in September.
My name is Lee Raphael and I am a podiatrist at the Beehive Foot Clinic in Beehive lane, Ilford. Virginia was looking for a foot health professional to offer advice and tips for potential ramblers at the stall. With this in mind I decided to bring along some diagnostic gait analysis equipment to the festival. I was able to demonstrate to willing participants how they took pressure on different parts of their feet and where imbalances occurred. This same equipment and procedure is carried out at the clinic as it allows far greater knowledge of how someone walks and the potential problems that may be in store.
I was somewhat surprised by the number of people willing to take part and we at times had a queue of eager walkers waiting to have their gait analysed.
I would like to thank Virginia and the other members of Redbridge Ramblers for making me very welcome and I hope to be of further assistance at future events.
I will be writing regularly for this news letter so if any readers have foot related questions they wish answered please write to info@londonhealthyfeet.com
